We offer a full range of advisory services to academy schools before and after conversion. Our services are tailored to meet your specific needs.
We currently act for 23 academy trusts including multi-academy trusts, one of which has eight schools.
We are on hand to support your management and finance teams, where necessary, in all the financial aspects of being an academy. We use our practical experience of the EFA guidance to assist our clients.

Advice on application of the EFA Academies Accounts Direction; training of all relevant management and staff in these key new areas for academies.
Setting up a timeline to allow management to effectively plan for deadlines in the academy regulatory framework.
Advice on choice and implementation of academy finance system.
Advice and/or assistance in the implementation of new procedures to meet DfE & EFA requirements; advice on the Financial Management and Governance Self-assessment (FMGS) which must be completed within four months of conversion.
Assistance with preparation of Academies Accounts Return at 31 March (additional reporting requirement in first year).
Advice on implementation of the requirements of the handbook and any specific requirements of your funding agreement.
Advice on the questions to ask to maximise the final LA school surpluses to be transferred into the Academy Trust.
Valuation and accounting treatment (including valuation of property using depreciated replacement cost method.
Deficit implications and accounting disclosures.
Assistance with setting up reports relevant to the Academy regulatory framework to allow timely and accurate production of information, and submission of EFA Budget Forecast within six weeks of receipt of final funding statement.
Advice on VAT, and/or completion of the registrations on your behalf, and training in respect of on-going requirements.
Advice on governance, risk and internal audit processes and committees, including effectiveness and audit committees. We can provide consultancy and assistance in respect of the role and work programme of the Responsible Officer.
