Critchleys have been efficient, friendly and helpful ever since our first meeting. Their advice has been invaluable.
What we do
We often advise on using trusts to save inheritance tax. If you put cash into a trust during your lifetime it drops out of your estate after seven years and does not form part of anyone else’s estate either (although planning is needed to ensure you do not trigger an immediate tax charge).
Many people use trusts in their wills: depending on your circumstances there may be a significant tax saving and it is also the best way to make sure your beneficiaries all end up with a fair share, especially if you want to look after your partner while still ensuring your children or other relatives are provided for.
Critchleys can help with all aspects of setting up and running a trust, as well as will planning and Inheritance Tax.
We can help you meet the compliance requirements of the Revenue and we will advise you on how to get the most tax-advantageous result.
