Extension to file accounts at Companies House

Extension to file accounts at Companies House

What is it?

Businesses are able to apply for a 3-month extension for filing their accounts.

How does it work?

By completing an online application, companies are able to apply for an extension, of up to 3 months, for filing accounts. Companies that cite COVID-19 or Health matters as the grounds for their application will be granted the 3-month extension.

You must apply for the extension before your filing deadline.

What don't we know yet?

If companies that have already extended their filing deadline, or shortened their accounting reference period, will be eligible for an extension.

Who is it for?

All (UK) businesses that file their accounts to Companies House.

What should I do next?

Complete the online application form. Please follow link from https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-more-time-to-file-your-companys-accounts
