The role

As a Private Client Tax Manager you will be responsible for the compliance and advisory requirements for a number of mainly Private Client Individuals. You will provide general tax planning to the Firm’s clients along with tax advisory projects with the Associate Tax Director and Tax Partner.

You will manage a small team of tax associates and tax seniors and have overall responsibility for the output of your team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a compliance portfolio of mainly personal and some partnerships tax returns to include monitoring of billing and work in progress
  • Managing a team of tax associates and tax seniors
  • Meeting and liaising with clients, existing and potential, to discuss their tax affairs
  • To assist in the review of tax returns prepared by more junior members of staff
  • Tax planning within the Firm
  • To assist the Associate Tax Director and partners on complex technical assignments
  • To proactively assist in marketing taxation services through networking activities

The person

We are looking for a team player who is motivated to help our clients, taking a genuine interest in them, and has a desire to put them first. You will have excellent problem solving skills and have a thorough and methodical approach to your work.

You will be adaptable to take on cases not specifically on your own allocation and able to work well under pressure. You are able to lead and motivate others and support your team’s development.

You will be confident and well organised, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and good IT skills.

You will be fully ATT/CTA/ACCA/ACA (or similar) qualified, or qualified by experience.
