What attracted you to join Critchleys?

I applied at Critchleys as they have a great reputation with caring for people and seeing businesses strive.

What does a typical day/week look like as a Junior Outsourcing Assistant?

I work with a variety of clients on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, which could include coding invoices, reconciling bank accounts, preparing working papers for VAT returns or management accounts, or helping clients with general enquires. I really enjoy working on management accounts as you can analyse a company’s financial position and able to provide an insight into the business’ performance.

What types of industries and clients do you work with?

I work across construction, retail, media, charities and many more. I enjoy working across all industries and the variety they all bring. I’m responsible for around 20 clients and enjoy how enthusiastic they are about their businesses, which makes my job more enjoyable.

What do you enjoy most?

The Outsourcing team is very knowledgeable and easy to get along with, as a junior if I’m ever struggling with a piece of work, the team is always there to give you all help that you need.

What has surprised you most since joining?

I think what surprised me the most about Critchleys is how great the people are, there is lot of support for one another within the Firm which reflects in the services provided to clients.

Your development at Critchleys so far?

From starting my role with very little knowledge, to now being able to confidently complete more complex forms of work, the support I got from my colleagues definitely contributed to this.

What advice would you give someone at the start of their career?

You’ll have a lot to learn so keeping notes is helpful to read back on. Time management is super important as you’ll be responsible for multiple clients with deadlines, along with having a good balance between studying outside of your work hours and combining down time to spend on hobbies and friends, which are equally as important.
