The Oxford train station is undergoing an extensive upgrade in 2024. To do this, they will be closing Botley Road for several months.
Our offices will remain open and accessible during this time.
Below are all the details that we know so far (last updated 1/12/2023).
11 April 2023 to October 2024
Botley Road will be closed to traffic at the railway bridge between Cripley Road and Frideswide Square, during which time utilities are being diverted before the bridge is demolished and replaced and highway improvements made.
How will this impact me?
- Motorists that usually access the city via Botley Road are advised to use the Park & Ride or take an alternative route.
- Buses will turn around just before the rail bridge, allowing passengers to continue their journey to the railway station and into the city centre on foot.
- Pedestrians and cyclists will have access to the railway station and onwards into the city throughout the work.
- Trains will operate as normal. Any temporary impact on services will be advertised well in advance. For closure dates please see below.
Railway closure
August 2024 - Four-day closure for bridge replacement.
