Support for businesses impacted by Omicron

What is it?

The Government have announced additional support for businesses that have been impacted by the Omicron variant.

Who is it for?

Businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors in England, including hospitality or leisure business suppliers.

How does it work?

Eligible businesses will be eligible for one-off grants of up to £6,000 per premises. It will be administered by local authorities and will be available in the coming weeks.

In addition, the Government also announced:

  • £30 million further funding will be made available through the Culture Recovery Fund, enabling cultural organisations in England to apply for support during the winter.
  • They will cover the cost of Statutory Sick Pay for Covid-related absences for small and medium-sized employers across the UK.

These additional measures will reinforce the existing package of business support, including:

  • Business rates relief
  • A 12.5% reduced rate of VAT for hospitality and tourism
  • Additional Relief Fund for businesses that have not previously had business rates support
  • Recovery Loan Scheme for SMEs to June
  • Bounce Back Loan repayment flexibility
  • Time to Pay arrangement
