Jobs Retention Bonus

Jobs Retention Bonus

What is it?

Companies will receive a £1,000 bonus for each furloughed employee who is still employed after the furlough scheme closes.

The Job Retention Bonus will no longer be paid in February, as originally planned, as the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme has been extended until 30 September 2021.

Who is it for?

UK Employers that furloughed staff due to COVID-19.

You can claim for any employees you have furloughed if you have:

  • furloughed that employee for at least 3 consecutive weeks between 1 March and 30 June 2020
  • a UK PAYE scheme started on or before 19 March 2020
  • enrolled for PAYE online
  • submitted a report under the Real Time Information (RTI) reporting system for that employee on or before 19 March 2020
  • a UK bank account

How does it work?

UK Employers will receive a one-off bonus of £1,000 for each furloughed employee who is still employed once the furlough scheme closes. Details on how to apply for this scheme will become available.
